Betina Szkudlarek

Betina Szkudlarek is a Professor in Management at the University of Sydney Business School. She also holds the post of a Strategic Sustainability and Growth Consultant with the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC). Betina’s core research and consulting expertise lie at the intersection of cross-cultural management, international human resource management, and management of diversity.

Betina’s work has been published in top-tier international journals such as Organization Studies, Human Resource Management, and Journal of Business Ethics. She is the recipient of numerous national and international awards and research grants including funding from the Social Science and Humanities Research Council of Canada and the Australian Federal Government.

Betina has worked with numerous corporate and governmental clients including, among others, United Nations, Shell, T-Mobile, Westpac, Daimler, and Q8. Betina is a regular contributor to public debate on topical issues linked to global mobility, management of diversity and cross-cultural management. Her opinion pieces have been featured by the Wall Street Journal, Sydney Morning Herald, and the Australian among others.

Betina has a wide experience in training, coaching and mentoring in various areas linked to global leadership development, cross-cultural management, intercultural competence and management of diversity. Her innovative approach to teaching has been covered by the Australian Financial Review, and she has received two Dean’s Citations for Outstanding Teaching as well as two SUPRA Teacher and Supervisor of the Year Awards. Betina is also a Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach.

Betina obtained her PhD in Management (Cum Laude) from the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (The Netherlands) where she worked prior to joining the University of Sydney.
