Professor Chris Rissel has over 250 peer-reviewed published articles plus dozens of research reports and book chapters. His current research interests focus on obesity prevention and active transport with a particular emphasis on cycling advocacy. He also has research interests in tobacco control and sexual health. He was a co-author of the national report 'Getting Australia Moving - barriers, facilitators and interventions to get more Australians physically active through cycling'. Chris is one of the Chief Investigators of the first and second Australian Study of Health and Relationships (AHSR) funded by the NHMRC, looking at changes in sexual health and behaviour in Australia.

The evidence suggests a small investment in cycling infrastructure, combined with less punitive policing, would enable more Australians to escape daily traffic congestion.
