Dr Georgina Macneil completed her PhD in fifteenth century Italian art at the University of Sydney, examining the significance of the youthful John the Baptist in paintings of the Virgin and Child from Florence. Since finishing her studies, Macneil has produced commentary on contemporary visual culture in the form of rap video clips, identifying the art historical tropes used in this media and their relationship to the canon of Western art history, theology and culture. She lives in Berlin and works in fintech.
