Dr Meraiah Foley is the Deputy Director of the Women and Work Research Group at The University of Sydney Business School and a Senior Lecturer in Work and Organisational Studies. Her research focuses on gender equality at work, with specific focus on the gendered dimensions of technology and workplace technological change, women's experiences working in male-dominated occupations and industries, and how concepts of merit and the meritocracy shape inequalities at work. Dr. Foley is currently a Chief Investigator on two Australian Research Council grants.
Dr. Foley is unit coordinator for WORK3600 (IR and HR in Practice) and WORK2205 (Strategic Human Resource Management), both core units in the Industrial Relations/Human Resource major. A former journalist for the Associated Press and The New York Times, Dr. Foley is passionate about helping students see the real-world implications of classroom theories.
