Sharon Parker

Professor Sharon K. Parker is an Australian Research Council Laureate Fellow, a John Curtin Distinguished Professor and the Director of the Centre for Transformative Work Design at Curtin University, and an Honorary Professor at the University of Sheffield. She is a recipient of the Australian Research Council’s Kathleen Fitzpatrick Award, and the 2016 Academy of Management OB Division Mentoring Award. She is also an Associate Editor of the Academy of Management Annals, a Fellow of the Society for Industrial and Organisational Psychology, and a Fellow of the Australian Social Sciences Academy. Sharon’s research focuses particularly on job and work design, and she also has a keen interest in employee mental health, motivation, and performance. She has published more than 80 internationally refereed articles, 5 books, over 50 book chapters and encyclopaedia entries, numerous articles in practitioner outlets and more than 60 technical reports. Sharon has attracted competitive research funding worth over $40,000,000, and has worked as a researcher and consultant in a wide range of public and private organisations. Sharon has recently led the State Health Research Advisory Council project (SHRAC): “Success in the Operating Theatre: Multidisciplinary Pre-Operative Briefings For Efficiency, Patient Safety, and Staff Engagement.
